In 1940 she was interned in Ravensbrück concentration camp, and then in a psychiatric hospital in Bernburg Germany. In her mugshot they wrote: "Promiscuous lesbian, bars frequented only by homosexuals. It has not adopted the name Sara” (imposed by the Nazis to Jewish women) she was killed by gas in 1942.
